In Search of Finn M’Coul

On our first morning we decided to start the day with a walk down the hill to the Harbor.  People who are fans of Game of Thrones would apparently recognize this area from the show.  I haven’t the slightest idea what the show even is, but there was a big sign by the water saying it was filmed there.  The scenery here was gorgeous.  We were able to catch a glimpse of the Rope Bridge from where we were exploring.
In the afternoon we headed to the much anticipated Giant’s Causeway.  Gabby and Lottie love the Tomie de Paolo book Finn M’Coul.  We’d built up this trip by saying we were going to see the causeway talked about in the book.  They were pretty excited when they got to see an animated version of the story of Finn and Cucullin on a big screen in the visitor center.  After the movie we set off to conquer the "difficult" cliff path.  When properly motivated by a good story these girls will walk for miles.  We walked all over the amazing hexagonal causeway stones and then dragged them up 162 stone steps to get a view from the top of the mountain.  Lottie said she was like Elsa from Frozen going up the mountain.

Looking into Ballintoy Harbour

Ballintoy Harbour

This could've ended poorly

I assume this means something to people who watch the show?

Poor Lottie gets stuck in all the staged pictures

Mesmerized!

Audio tour at the Giant's Causeway

I am totally convinced giants really did build this

The person who was taking our picture clearly thought this was worth capturing

The nice park employees politely requested that due to high winds we not take our young children up on the highest parts.

We conquered the hard path!

Gabby is totally her father's daughter.  She was appalled that people wasted money but shoving it in between the stones.

162 steps up and she did it all on her own!

We sure did drag both girls up this path

A little perspective

Slow and steady
