Changing of the Guard: Swapping Out Family in Costa Rica

I have once again completely lost track of time.  The internet has been a smidge inconsistent for the last couple of days.  I am sure everyone is relieved that I am not back online to catch you up on the past couple days adventures.
We spent the last two days at a lovely beach that is very popular with surfers.  I see absolutely nothing enjoyable about paddling out into waves to potentially be knocked over and sucked under the water, but I don't mind watching other people do it.  The girls liked this particular beach because nature made them some lovely "princess castles" to play on.  I presume these are some kind of volcanic rock.  When the tides out they make a great playground!  We also entertained ourselves collecting rocks and finding crabs.  On Wednesday when we returned from our adventure a friend, thankfully a deceased one, was waiting for us in the bedroom hallway.  Better than last year when the scorpion was found on the ceiling was alive and angry :(
Thursday the girls got to play at Grace and Enriques while Mia got her nails done.  They had a blast running around in the yard, collecting  Manzana de Agua, and playing "football."  It was a great way to end mom's last day at Casa Amarilla.  Friday we were in for another LONG drive.  This time we managed to avoid car sickness, but our time wasn't nearly as fast.  We stopped for a tasty breakfast and some working internet.  We also made the requisite stop at the crocodile.  We are now becoming familiar with one of the vendors there ;)  Even though our time wasn't as good we still made it back early enough to do a little shopping and have dinner before dark.
Today is the day we spend waiting for our next visitors.  Here in Alajuela the weather is almost fall like, which is kind of unfortunate because we have clothing for the hot beaches in the south.  Although after yesterdays sauna like car ride I am not complaining too much.  I love our Bego rental.  I am completely in awe of the fact that it still runs after the drives we've had.  My only small complaint is that it needs some sort of turbo booster for the a/c.  The girls looked like they were melting in the back and I don't think shoving an adult in between them for our return trip tomorrow is likely to improve the temperature situation.
Hopefully the coming days will provide some more interesting stories.  I don't think that hearing about more beach trips will be all that interesting for much longer ;p
Princesses on their rock castle

Perfect thrones

Running in the shallow pools
Horses randomly running on the beach

Would've been perfectly happy to make it through this trip without seeing one of these alive or dead.

New larger castle.  A good parent would be spotting them not taking pictures.

Hot tub in the castle.  Seriously this water was pretty warm.

At the top of the mountain.

Quite the climber.

Lottie is too accustomed to US football
Picking "apples"
Crocodile again

Parrots descending on the tree outside the porch
